Keranique Damage Control Shampoo and Conditioner Set + Overnight Serum Review

Image
Keranique Shampoo, Conditioner and Overnight Serum Review Three weeks ago I was asked to try and write an honest review of the Keranique Shampoo and Conditioner Damage Control Set and Overnight Serum . I didn't realize the type of change and confidence that would come from this. If you know me, you know that I don't spend much time on my hair (which is quite unfortunate sometimes). I dye my own hair, cut my own hair and don't own a blow dryer. And before I moved to California 3 years ago, I purchased these huge bottles of Tresemme Shampoo and Conditioner from Costco that have been my main source of hair washing these past few years. I'm not sure if it's just that I work from home or I have never made my hair a top priority, but it always seems to be placed at the bottom of the totem pole. Until now. I have never received more compliments on my hair than in these past three weeks. I tried the shampoo, conditioner, and overnight serum together and

Fried Chicken Tenders

Image
Like I mentioned in my previous blog, my intent was to have two blogs done before Christmas. With the busyness of the holiday season, I didn't get around to doing that until now - so now you get two recipes in one day :) For these Fried Chicken Tenders, I actually used two recipes - one for the ingredients and one for the actual oil and frying instructions . Below is our version, it took a little bit longer than anticipated based on how many chicken tenders, how much oil was used, and how long it took to heat up. If you make these, please comment below and let me know if you liked these or if you found an easier way to fry them. Enjoy! Ingredients: -4 chicken breasts, cut into tenders -1 cup buttermilk -2 eggs, beaten -2 cups flour -2 1/2 tsp salt -3/4 tsp pepper -1/8 tsp pepper -1/8 tsp paprika -1/8 tsp garlic powder -1/8 tsp baking powder -3-4 cups canola oil for frying Directions: Cut the chicken breasts into tenders (10-12) and soak them in a bowl with the bu

Healthy Chili Cheese Nachos

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and happy holiday season! I had an amazing Christmas Eve with my grandparents, cousins, aunt and uncle! Then I spent Christmas with Kevin, Jace, and Dominique. It was wonderful. For Christmas I received The Wholesome Yum Easy Keto Cookbook and an Instant Pot so look forward to those recipes in the near future! My goal before Christmas was to create two new blog posts for you guys - a healthy chili cheese nacho recipe and a fried chicken recipe. Unfortunately, I didn't get to either one before Christmas so I apologize. The holiday season has been extremely busy for me. But here I am to share the healthy chili cheese nachos that I found from Eating Well HERE . Although extremely delicious, I noticed the recipe was mainly taco-seasoned ground beef on top of chips. There is no actual chili in this recipe. Still delicious but just so you know what to expect:) Here is our version of the Healthy Chili Cheese Nachos. Enjoy! Ingredients: -1

Easy Crockpot Shredded Chicken Chili

Image
The weather here in Central California can't seem to make up its mind. This week we have received rain as well as 72 degree weather. The night we made chili, it was a gloomy night and, quite honestly, I didn't feel like cooking. We had chicken breasts in the refrigerator but I wasn't sure what to make with it. I looked up a crockpot shredded chicken chili recipe from Sally's Baking Addiction HERE and we made ours below. Besides the chicken breast, this recipe ended up being fairly reasonably priced. We also have a lot of leftovers and it was literally a recipe that you pour all the ingredients in and just leave for a few hours. Recipes like this are my favorite :) What is your favorite winter go-to recipe? Ingredients: - 2 14oz cans of diced tomatoes, drained - 2 8oz cans of tomato sauce - 3 boneless skinless chicken breast, about 1.5 pounds - 2 cups chicken broth - 1 tbsp onion powder, seasoning - 1 14oz can of corn, drained - 1 14oz can of black beans, dra

"Creamy" Mustard Chicken in the Cast Iron Skillet

Image
A few nights ago I found this Creamy Dijon Chicken recipe from Cafe Delites HERE . So, the reason why I put "creamy" in quotes is because mine didn't really turn out creamy. I had a feeling the boys wouldn't like it but they loved it and it was gone by the end of the night! It doesn't look pleasing but it tastes better than it looks :) So, here is a blog post of a "Creamy" Mustard Chicken recipe in the cast iron skillet. Ingredients for the chicken: - 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs - 1 tsp salt - 1/4 tsp pepper - 5oz bacon Ingredients for the sauce: - 2 tbsp butter - 1 tbsp onion powder - 1 tbsp garlic powder - 1 tbsp basil seasoning - 1 tsp oregano seasoning - 1/3 cup chicken broth - 1 1/2 cups half and half - 2 tbsp mustard - 1/2 tsp salt - 1/2 tsp pepper - 1/4 parmesan cheese Directions: Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat and cook until cooked through

Homemade Meatball Subs

Image
I apologize ahead of time that the last two blog posts have been full of carbs. I'm supposed to be on a low-carb diet but sometimes things just come up and you have to eat the carbs. I am very proud to say that as of this morning, I am down 9.3 pounds since the end of June! And I maintained my weight throughout Thanksgiving so I think, overall, I'm on a better track. A few nights ago I made these Homemade Meatball Subs. Initially, I did look for a Low Carb recipe, but they seemed like way too much work. I worked for five hours, had an hour doctor appointment and just wanted to make dinner as quickly as possible. Well, this recipe wasn't "quick" per-se but it would have taken way more time to make the Low Carb version. The recipe we pulled from was AllRecipes HERE . We created our own below. I also let Jace help me with this one. He doesn't like getting his hands dirty but once he put his hands in to start forming the meatballs, he started to enjoy it! Ingr

What to do with Thanksgiving Leftovers? Make a Thanksgiving Casserole!

Image
How was your Thanksgiving Day? I was able to spend mine with my cousins and grandparents down in Pismo Beach, California. It was beautiful. My cousin made an amazing turkey and sent me home with basically all of it ðŸ¦ƒðŸ¦ƒ I didn't mind but I had NO IDEA what to do with all the leftovers. Kevin and I were talking about it and he said that growing up, his Mom made a Thanksgiving Casserole. I don't remember ever having a Thanksgiving Casserole but when he mentioned it, it sounded delicious! This recipe is actually his moms + a little bit of our own creativity. Please let me know your thoughts and if you tried this recipe! It was seriously SO goods. I also have to warn you, if you enjoy carbs, this is the meal for you. If you are on a diet (like I'm supposed to be), don't look at this recipe because you will be tempted! Ingredients: - Two packets of brown gravy - Two packets of powdered mashed potatoes - Turkey, cubed, two cups or so - 1 can of corn - 1 cup cheddar c
