Chrissy Teigen's Cool Ranch Taco Salad Recipe

Image
I received the Cravings 2 cookbook as a Christmas gift from my boyfriend and this is the second recipe that I made. I think the photos in the cookbook were more beautiful than mine but overall, it was pretty good. I made the dressing and decided not to use it after all. My changes and edits are made below but Chrissy Teigen's full recipe of the Cool Ranch Taco Salad can be found HERE . Ingredients for the beef mixture: frozen corn (one bag) 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 pound ground beef 1 tablespoon paprika 2 teaspoon ground cumin 2 teaspoon garlic powder 2 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon chili powder 1 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 15-ounce can of black beans, drained Ingredients for the salad: 1 large head of iceberg lettuce, shredded black olives 2 cups Cool Ranch Doritos sour cream For dressing I used salsa. Directions for the beef mixture: Heat a large skillet over high heat until really hot. Put corn in the pan and heat until the corn is

Chrissy Teigen's Cheesy-Knife-and-Fork Meatball Subs from Cravings 2

Image
I received the Cravings 2 recipe book from my boyfriend this Christmas and have already enjoyed several recipes including this one! The Cheesy-knife-and-fork Meatball subs were REALLY good but I have to say it probably took 1.5-2 hours to prepare everything, especially since the sauce is made-from-scratch! Everything is so good and we made enough for four servings. Just make sure you plan ahead of time to have time to make everything! Once again, we did change just a few things but overall it was pretty dang amazing! Ingredients: For the sauce: 6 tablespoons olive oil garlic powder 1/2 cup tomato paste 3 cans whole peeled tomatoes in juice 2 teaspoons dried oregano 2 teaspoons dried basil 2 teaspoons kosher salt 2 teaspoons sugar For the meatballs: 3/4 cup bread crumbs 1/3 cup milk 1 egg 1/2 pound ground beef 1/2 pound ground pork 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon kosher salt ground black pepper 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspo

Slow Cooker Boneless Ribs

Image
To be honest, I made this recipe tonight and I didn't plan on posting about it. I'm not sure if it was because I just thought it would be "another crockpot recipe" or if I was lazy (haha) but either way, after I tried them, I HAD to post because they were so amazing. They were melt-in-your-mouth ribs and pull-apart. I had them with white rice and garlic bread. These were 8-year old Jace approved! The original recipe is from Tasty and can be found HERE . Ingredients: 1 cup BBQ sauce 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup Sweet Baby Ray's chicken wing sauce 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar dried oregano 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce cayenne pepper paprika 2 pounds boneless ribs pepper Directions: Combine BBQ sauce, brown sugar, chicken wing sauce, apple cider vinegar, oregano, worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, and paprika in a small bowl. With the seasonings, I just put in as much as needed so you can adjust to your preference. Whisk t

Slow Cooker Sirloin Steak with White Rice

Image
Tonight's dinner was slow cooker Sirloin Steak mixed with soy sauce and other sauces and originated HERE . The original recipe called for mixing broccoli with it which I did not do. I also ended up picking up sirloin steak that had a lot of fat on it so I only ended up with about half of what I expected :( It was still good though and was super easy to make. Ingredients: Sirloin steak sliced into small chunks/bites (I had two pieces but only ended up with one) 1 cup beef stock 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 tablespoon sesame oil garlic powder white rice and butter Directions: In the crockpot, mix beef broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, a thin layer of garlic powder and brown sugar. Add the sirloin steak and cook for four hours. I kept on warm for about an hour before serving. I purchased the 90 second white rice and mixed with butter and then added the steak and sauce on top of the rice. Super delicious! Enjoy!

Buffalo Chicken Calzone Recipe

Image
This recipe originated HERE . This recipe took a little bit longer than I thought it would have. In place of vegetable oil I used pizza dipping oil from Williams Sonoma. I have never boiled chicken before but if you don't have time to leave it in a crockpot all day, this was an easy process. Ingredients: 3 boneless, skinless chicken breast 2 tablespoons butter 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce 2 refrigerated pizza dough Redwood drizzling oil for pizza (Williams Sonoma) or vegetable oil 2 cups mozzarella cheese Directions: Preheat oven to 410 degrees and grease a pizza pan. Place chicken in a pot with salted water and boil about 20-25 minutes (or until there is no pink in the center). Transfer chicken to a bowl and shred. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high and add chicken and buffalo wing sauce and mix for about 5 minutes. Add flour onto a big surface and roll dough into a 12-inch round. The pizza dough I purchased was already in a 12-inch round which made

Cheesy Shredded Chicken Nachos

Image
I'll be honest, I've never had made-from-scratch Cheesy Chicken Nachos but these were pretty tasty! Click HERE to read the full recipe. We made some major changes but they still turned out pretty good! The recipe calls for shredded chicken so I put some chicken in a crockpot this morning, mixed it with chicken broth, garlic powder, and onion powder and let it sit for about five hours. I then added a BBQ seasoning mix that I found at the store to the crockpot and since there was already chicken broth in the crockpot, I used that as the liquid. I mixed it up, shredded the chicken, and let it mix together on high for about 30 minutes. I preheated the oven to 350 degrees. I took two tortillas, cut them each into eight pieces like a pizza, lined them next to each other on a cookie sheet, melted butter and applied it to each piece and then topped it with more garlic and onion powder and baked them for eight minutes. I did not stack them or overlap them. The original reci

Slow Cooker Chili Pot Pie with Cornbread Crust

This Slow Cooker Chili Pot Pie with Cornbread Crust recipe was delicious and super easy to make. The recipe originated HERE . I put the chili in the crockpot on this foggy Sunday morning and it was done by evening. The original recipe called for Red Peppers and Onions but we eliminated those.
