Baked Ground Beef Stroganoff Casserole

A few weeks ago I made this Baked Stroganoff Casserole. Now I have to preface this by saying that I am not a huge fan of Stroganoff but I've noticed that everything tastes better when baked. The original recipe was found HERE. We changed a few things up to our liking. The full recipe is below. If you try this recipe and like it, please let me know! :)

Ingredients:
8oz egg noodles
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 lb ground beef
Salt, pepper to taste
Onion powder, to taste
Garlic powder, to taste
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 1/2 cups beef broth
3/4 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon mustard
1 + 3/4 cups shredded cheese (plus more if you would like)

Directions:
Cook the egg noodles for one minute less than instructed on the package. Drain and set aside. Heat the oil over medium heat on the stove. Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper and cook all the way through. Remove the beef and set aside and leave the grease in the pan. Add onion powder, garlic powder, and butter and swirl the butter until melted. Use a fork and stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute continuously. Stir in half the beef broth until incorporated and then add the second half. Mix the sour cream, mustard, and half the cheese until well-combined. Let simmer 3-5 minutes. Add the ground beef back to the sauce. Mix in the egg noodles. Pour into a casserole dish and top with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Serve immediately. Now with mine, it came out rather thin and runny but it still turned out really good. If it doesn't get thick, still cook it and eat it as it tastes great. If you were able to get yours thick, please provide me with advice/recommendations on what you did!

*We served ours with toast
