Easy Homemade Hamburger Helper in the Cast Iron Skillet

I was putting together a grocery list today and asked Kevin (boyfriend) if he wanted me to add anything. He said to put down Hamburger Helper. Instead of just purchasing the boxed Hamburger Helper I told him we could make our own (and we all know that I love to cook!). This version was super easy (and a little messy) and the recipe originated HERE. It's not a healthy recipe but I do eat good or healthy most of the time so it's ok to have a carb meal every once in awhile :)

Ingredients:
-1 lb ground beef
-2 cups water
-2 cups beef broth
-1/2 package (2-3 cups) of uncooked elbow macaroni
-2 tbsp onion powder
-1/2 tsp garlic powder
-1 tsp paprika
-1 tsp cayenne pepper
-1 small can of tomato paste
-Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium until no longer pink, 7-10 minutes.

Add remaining ingredients to the skillet.

Stir to combine and bring to a boil. Simmer uncovered for 15 minutes. Taste and add seasonings, salt, or pepper as needed. Top with cheese and enjoy. Super easy!
