One pot cajun chicken pasta

If you are looking for a one-pot dinner with a nice little kick to it, this pasta is it. I'll be honest and say that I don't think I've ever had a Cajun meal before and did not even know what to look for when the original recipe showed Cajun Seasoning. I was at Walmart looking at seasonings and it was right there. So much easier than I thought and the meal itself took less than an hour to make. Everything is in one pot too which makes cleaning so much easier. If you make this, please let me know in the comments below. If you want it a little less spicy, just add less Cajun seasoning.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp onion powder
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 large boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into 1 inch pieces
1 tsp basil
1 1/4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup half and half
2 cups water
2 tbsp Cajun Seasoning
3 cups dry rotini pasta
1/2 cup shredded cheese, Italian style

Directions:
Add butter and olive oil to a pot over medium heat.

Once the butter is melted and hot, add the onion and garlic powder and stir about 20 seconds. Add in chicken and cook 5-6 minutes or until there is no pink.

Add the basil, chicken broth, half and half, water, Cajun seasoning, and increase heat to high and bring to a soft boil.

Once boiling, reduce heat to medium and add pasta. Stir and cook 15 minutes or until the pasta is cooked all the way and very little liquid remains. Stir in cheese and serve with garlic bread.
