Ground Turkey Chili Mac

Hello and happy Friday! Although I may not be working at the moment, I still have a very busy week life and healthy grocery shopping is included in that. A few days ago I had purchased ground turkey and we decided to make this Firehouse Chili Mac. The recipe is from Davita so it is a kidney friendly recipe. The great thing about Davita is you can type in the search box on the website what kind of recipe you are looking for. In this recipe we used ground turkey instead of ground beef. I used onion powder instead of onion, no bell pepper, monkfruit instead of sugar, garlic powder instead of garlic, and tomato sauce instead of stewed tomatoes with jalapeno peppers.

Ingredients:
1 pound ground turkey
1 tbsp onion powder
3/4 cup water
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp monkfruit
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 cup tomato sauce
2 cups spiral macaroni

Directions:
In a crockpot, add the ground turkey (uncooked), onion powder, water, chili powder, monkfruit, cumin, garlic powder, and tomato sauce.

Cook on high 5 hours, stirring occasionally. With 10 minutes left, add the spiral macaroni, uncooked, to the crockpot. Cook 6-10 minutes or until pasta is tender. Top with Parmesan cheese.
